Building on the strategic agreement signed at the World Travel Market (WTM) London last November, the National Travel Operator – Visit Oman and Destinia, a leading Online Travel Agency (OTA) operating in 92 countries and featuring 32 languages, announced the launch of a digital campaign to promote Omani tourism products on Destinia's booking platform. The announcement was made at Fitur 2025 in Madrid, Spain, and was attended by His Excellency Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism. This collaboration aims to significantly increase inbound tourism from Spain to Oman, a key source market in line with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism’s destination marketing efforts.
The campaign breaks new ground by leveraging online video platforms offering streamed content (over-the-top channels), including prominent coverage on the Netflix streaming service. This innovative approach will showcase exclusive promotional content highlighting Oman's diverse landscapes, rich culture, and unique travel experiences to a targeted Spanish-speaking audience on Netflix and other online video platforms. This strategic use of engaging storytelling and destination appeal aims to significantly increase inbound tourism from Spain to Oman.
Destinia's platform now features over 10 enticing travel packages for experiences across Oman, carefully curated for the Spanish market, and Spanish-speaking travellers. These packages, ranging from 7 to 10 nights, cater to a diverse range of travellers, including families, adventure seekers, luxury travellers, and those interested in niche activities like diving, golf, and glamping. Each package includes flights, accommodations, transportation, and tours, with added ancillaries depending on the specific category. The campaign features a dedicated bookable microsite for Oman on Destinia, to enhance user experience and facilitate seamless bookings for travellers.
"Our collaboration with Destinia represents a significant step forward in our efforts to increase digital distribution of Omani tourism offerings worldwide," said Shabib Al Maamari, Managing Director at Visit Oman. "By offering a wide range of attractive packages on a leading online travel platform, we aim to showcase the diverse beauty and unique experiences Oman has to offer to Spanish travellers."
"At Destinia, we're passionate about travel and creating unforgettable experiences," said Ricardo Fernandez, CEO of Destinia. "This collaboration with Visit Oman aligns perfectly with our core values. We're proud to leverage our technology and expertise to create a seamless and user-friendly booking experience for Spanish travellers seeking to explore Oman's diverse offerings. Through our dedicated microsite, travellers will have a central hub to discover exciting itineraries curated for the Spanish market, while our competitive flash sales will make exploring Oman even more enticing. We believe this initiative embodies Destinia's commitment to offering a wide range of travel products at the best possible prices, all while ensuring transparency and exceptional customer service."
This initiative leverages Destinia's global reach and extensive network to effectively distribute diverse tourism packages across key source markets. Combining platform visibility, and user-friendly booking experiences is expected to significantly increase conversions and drive bookings.
